About

We measure dead domains
so you don't buy a corpse.

h4xdomains grew out of a private research pipeline: a drop-catcher and screening system built to find aged .uk names worth keeping. The public site is a read-only window onto that database — the same numbers we use to decide what to catch.

What makes the data different: every name is checked against the registry directly, metrics come from four independent providers, and anything with a spam signature is flagged rather than quietly dropped.

How a domain gets into the database

Five stages. A name that fails any of them is kept, flagged and never recommended.

01Drop list

Nominet's daily list is pulled raw and stored before anything touches it.

02Registry check

Direct whois on every name — created, expiry, EPP status, registrar tag.

03Metrics

Ahrefs DR, Majestic TF/CF and referring domains, Moz DA. Four providers, no blending.

04Archive

Every archive.org capture year, plus a stored homepage screenshot per year.

05Spam screen

Backlinks, archived content and anchors checked against known patterns and flagged.
